Bruce Springsteen has been suffering from a continuing battle with peptic ulcer disease and has recently given fans an update on where his health stands, after postponing his tour.
Last week, the music star announced the rescheduled dates for his US Tour, telling fans he was “deeply sorry.” Here’s the latest.

Bruce Springsteen ‘deeply sorry’ for ‘monster’ illness
The 74-year-old took to his ‘From My Home To Yours’ series on SiriusXM to give his loyal, and concerned, fans an update on his health, firstly by thanking them for their support.
“Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding,” he said. “I am deeply sorry but this belly thing, despite my ability to laugh at it, has been a monster and is still unfortunately rocking my internal world.”
Ever the joker, the Dancing In The Dark singer introduced himself as “your favorite rock star with a bitch of a bellyache.”
The tour is now scheduled to run from March through to September next year.
The news of his health condition first broke at the start of September, when the rockstar took to his 1.6 million Instagram followers to announce he and E Street Band would have to postpone their performances for September 2023.
At the time, he was “being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease” and had to postpone dates on medical advice.
In the statement, Springsteen said he was “heartbroken” having to postpone, but was “looking forward to more great times.”
Despite the star feeling he had to apologize to fans, of course, they took to the comments to send him their well wishes.
“After those Jersey shows! I don’t know how he did it… and we all so hope he feels better soon!” exclaimed one.
“Get well quickly. Thank you for all you have given to me as a fan. God Bless you and your family. We will see you in Philadelphia in August 2024,” penned another.
The star is ‘steadily recovering’
Despite the ‘monster’ illness, the 74-year-old revealed a couple of weeks ago that he was “steadily recovering” but will continue treatment for the rest of the year, under the doctor’s advice.
But what exactly is peptic ulcer disease that Bruce Springsteen has been suffering from?
As per Cleveland Clinic, peptic ulcer disease “occurs when open sores, or ulcers, form in the stomach or first part of the small intestine.”
We’re wishing Bruce a speedy recovery!
