Melissa McCarthy has debuted her incredible weight loss on the Red Carpet over the years, and it’s down to three simple things.

The movie star has never shied away from the topic of discussion, even admitting to using a medically supervised all-liquid regimen plan around two decades ago. Although she lost 70lb that way, she said she’d never do it again. Now, six years later, she’s looking better than ever, and she’s revealed all.

Melissa McCarthy reveals ‘weight loss secrets’

The last thing you’d call Hollywood is boring, but the Bridesmaid actress, who is said to have lost 75lb, joked she lives a “super boring life” to keep up with her regime, speaking to Life & Style. “You go to bed at 7:30 [p.m.] — that’s the trick.”

However, she then told the publication that in fact, “she streamlined her portions, stuck with a high-protein, low-carb diet plan, and maintained a consistent exercise regimen.”

Back in 2015, the 53-year-old revealed to Life & Style that her mindset was a big factor in her weight loss transformation.

“I truly stopped worrying about it,” Melissa said. “I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked.”

At the time, she was filming for the hit movie Spy and said she started training with a martial arts instructor the second she landed the role.

The star ‘worried about weight too soon’

The actress got her big break in Hollywood when she landed a role on Gilmore Girls in 2000, where she said “weight never came up.” “I felt starved and crazy half the time,” she told PEOPLE.

However, that wasn’t the first time she worried about her weight, as she recalls being concerned in high school.

“I do think I worried about weight too soon when it was only little-kid weight,” Melissa opened up to Rolling Stone.

In school, she took part in many sports, including cheerleading, gymnastics, and playing tennis. She told the publication that although she wasn’t “stick thin” like some girls she was a size six the entire time.

“I thought I battled weight throughout high school, but I look back at pictures of me as a cheerleader, doing sprints, lifting weights, doing gymnastics, playing tennis, and while I wasn’t reed-thin like some girls … I was a size six the entire time. So what on Earth was I freaking out about?”
