Lindsay Lohan is reportedly upset with a joke that takes aim at her in the musical remake of Mean Girls.

Lindsay starred in the original 2004 movie as Cady Haron, a homeschooled teenager from South Africa who moves with her parents to America. She struggles to adapt to high school life but is soon taken under the wings of the three Plastics (played by Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert). However, things soon unravel and Cady finds out how nasty high school can become. Now, Lindsay and her dad have hit out at the new installment.

The ‘offensive’ joke ‘hurt’ Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan is said to be “hurt” by a joke told in the musical adaptation of Mean Girls.

The joke is told by music star Megan Thee Stallion who appears in a video supporting head Plastic, Regina George (Reneé Rapp) after she endures an embarrassing moment.

Megan claims in the TikTok-style clip: “We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!” and this hasn’t gone down too well with Lindsay, 37.

The nickname stems from a now infamous pop culture moment in which on-again, off-again friend of the Hollywood star, Paris Hilton, and oil heir Brandon Davis made vile remarks about her.

“I think she’s worth about $7 million, which means she’s really poor. It’s disgusting,” he said. “She lives in a motel,” Brandon told paparazzi in the viral video. He asked: “Who would want to f*** her?” and called her “fire crotch.” Paris can be seen laughing and encouraging his comments.

Brandon later apologized for his comments, calling them “inexcusable” and Lindsay a “friend.”

The friend of TV star Paris said: “What started out as a joke got completely carried away. I am horrified at the words that came out of my mouth.”

Lindsay Lohan ‘disappointed’ by joke in new Mean Girls movie

After her representative said she was “very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” a source has revealed more on the celebrity’s reaction. She is so hurt, she apparently wants the joke to be edited out.

They told MailOnline: “The real mean girl here is Tina Fey. She wrote it. She also knows that Lindsay is hurt by it. The studio is also aware of how Lindsay feels about it. The right thing for them to do would be for them to edit this out of the film. It is completely unnecessary and very disrespectful.”

The Parent Trap actress’ dad, Michael, also slammed the line. He told the publication: “While I’d love to make a few comments about Megan The Stallion and even Tina allowing that condescending piece to be in the movie, I’ll take the high road and reserve them.”

Despite having her own cameo, Lindsay was unaware of the joke being told until she saw the final cut at the premiere.

Tina Fey recently praised Lindsay

Tina Fey, who wrote and stars in both versions of Mean Girls, praised Lindsay Lohan before the joke became headline news. She called the original “really Lindsay’s movie” in an interview on Monday (January 15).

She said: “The original movie is really Lindsay’s movie, you know? She’s just luminous through it.

“I thought if she was gonna do anything, I thought it might be nice to have her come kind of late in the movie when you’re like, “Oh my gosh, I didn’t think,” you’ve so much forgotten that you’re looking for cameos.”

Tina, 53, has yet to respond to Lindsay’s upset at the joke’s inclusion.
