But Wong and Hader go back even further than that infamous night. In December 2022, Page Six reported that the comedians dated "very briefly" following their respective breakups from Justin Hakuta (Ali's ex-husband) and Anna Kendrick (she and Bill were together for nearly two years). Several months after calling it quits. Wong and Hader decided to give their romance another chance, and they've been going strong ever since.

2016: Ali Wong and Bill Hader work on The Angry Birds Movie together.

Before they were a couple, Ali and Bill worked together on the 2016 animated film Angry Birds, in which they lent their voices to Betty and Leonard, respectively. The film also starred Maya Rudolph, Jason Sudeikis, Kate McKinnon, and Billy Eichner.

2022: Ali Wong and Bill Hader briefly date and break up. 

According to Page Six, Ali and Bill first started dating sometime in 2022. That same year, the Beef star announced her split from husband Justin Hakuta in April, while Hader broke up with Anna Kendrick two months later — leaving the pair with approximately four months to strike up a romance.

But by December, they were "no longer dating," according to a source. "They dated very briefly. They’re just super busy with things, but [the split] was certainly amicable," the insider said, adding, "They’re certainly friends."

April 16, 2023: Ali Wong and Bill Hader rekindle their relationship. 

Four months after calling it quits, Ali and Bill have seemingly rekindled their romance. During an interview with Collider, the Barry actor casually dropped a bombshell while talking about his "girlfriend." He told the magazine, "My girlfriend and I were just figuring out that I haven’t had a vacation in 10 years. I went with her to San Francisco, but that doesn’t really count. So I’m going to have a vacation."

He didn't name names, but two days later, a rep for Hader confirmed that he was referring to Wong, revealing to Entertainment Tonight: “Bill Hader and Ali Wong are dating again.”

April 19, 2023: Ali Wong and Bill Hader are seen together publicly for the first time.

A few days later, Wong and Hader were photographed together for the first time while stepping out for a stroll in Los Angeles on Ali's 41st birthday. They sealed their coupledom with a kiss, and Page Six published photos of the romantic rendezvous here.

Ali and Bill made their couple debut at the 2024 Golden Globes. During the ceremony, Wong was announced as the winner for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for her show Beef, and before heading to the stage, she gave Hader a kiss, which was rather shocking to the majority of people (this writer, included) who had no idea they were dating.

Another day, another award show outing for Wong and Hader — this time, at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, where they shared yet another public kiss.

January 15, 2024: Ali Wong talks about *that* Golden Globes kiss. 

The next day, Hader and Wong made another public appearance together at Netflix's Emmys afterparty. While walking the red carpet for the award show earlier, Ali opened up about her relationship with Bill during an interview with Access Hollywood. When asked about the public's surprised reaction to their Golden Globes kiss, Wong laughed before responding: "We've been together for a minute, so I guess people didn't know we were together."
